ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND YOU

It’s safe to say that most people want to save energy (and money!), but those same conservation-minded people might not know what qualifies a heater or air conditioner as “energy efficient”. To inform consumers about the energy efficiency of their products, air conditioning manufacturers like Rheem use a rating system called Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, known as SEER. In essence, the higher the SEER rating, the more efficient the equipment is. In 2015 the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) changed the energy efficiency rules regarding SEER. Split systems in our southwestern region must now be 14 SEER.
